The northern lights

I went out about 9pm and I saw a star. First one for days. So I went back to my cabin and got dressed for outside. There were definite gaps in the clouds.

So I stayed out. I saw Mars and Jupiter and pointed them out to a few brave souls who came out.

The sky gradually cleared and then we undocked and went out to sea. We soon saw them. A faint glow.
The blue is smoke from the funnel.
We all hung around but they didn't brighten and then we could no longer see stars. So gradually we all went in as it was midnight by now. Just in case I switched on the TV where they have an alerting system. I snuggled up in bed and then the TV announced northern lights visible. I threw back on all my clothes and sprinted up the 6 decks in time to see much more vivid displays. Colours were even visible.
This could be a STEVE
Lots of passengers happy. A few less so at breakfast to have missed it. Mission accomplished.
