Out and about in Alta

I got escort duty for a trip around Alta and to a few places, one id asked for. It's a bit of a lottery if you can get a free tour like this. Bad news it leaves at 8:15 and I'd been out chasing auroras until past 1am.

I met the guide Klaus and we got all the passengers onboard the bus.
Lots of snow but above freezing.
Our first stop was the northern lights cathedral.
Then we went onto the Tirpitz museum. I remember reading about the numerous war time attempts to sink this battleship which finally succeeded by the dambuster squadron with tallboys although it had been towed south by then.

Next a stop at a church. One of hardly any buildings to survive the war as it was torched to the ground on German retreat.

A final stop at the place the Tirpitz was moored.

Back to the ship.
